Questions, feedback and bug reports: sanasauna@huotari.ai. Please tell us your phone model, the app version and what happened, so we can help faster.

Purchases

You can get more puzzles in packs of 5 or 25 and more hints in packs of 20. They are one-off purchases, not subscriptions. You buy them from the App Store or Google Play, under More puzzles in the app. Apple or Google processes the payment, and we never see your card or bank details. Puzzles and hints you buy work offline.

If a purchase does not show up in the app, first try restoring purchases (see below). If the pack is still missing, send us a message and tell us which store you bought it from and when.

Restoring purchases

In the app, open More puzzles and choose Restore purchases. The app checks your purchases again and tells you when it is done. We use RevenueCat to check and restore purchases; the privacy policy has the details.

If you change phones or reinstall the app and a pack you bought is missing, send us a message and we will look into it. Puzzle and hint packs are one-off purchases, so they cannot be restored after your data is deleted. The balance already on the phone stays.

Hints

You get 3 free hints every day. There are three kinds: check a square, reveal a letter and reveal a whole word. Checking a square is always free. Once the day's free hints are used, the app uses the hints you have bought, if you have any.

Playing with friends: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and permissions

Party play works over the same Wi-Fi network, directly between phones, and needs no internet. On iPhone and iPad it also works over Bluetooth. A game has 2–8 players. The host creates the game, and friends nearby see it on their phones with a four-letter code. Friends join for free, without an account.

If a friend cannot see the game or cannot join:

  • Check that all the phones are on the same Wi-Fi network. On iPhone and iPad you can also use Bluetooth: check that it is on and Sanasauna is allowed to use it.
  • On iPhone and iPad, Sanasauna asks for permission to use Bluetooth and the local network. If you did not allow it, you can allow it in the phone's settings.
  • The Android app uses Wi-Fi for party play and asks for no Bluetooth or location permission.

Taking turns on one phone

If you have only one phone, choose Play with friends → Take turns (in the Finnish app: Pelaa kavereiden kanssa → Vuorotellen). The phone goes from player to player, and each player solves a word or a few words of the same puzzle on their turn. When the players are named, the game keeps score and finds the winner.

Deleting your account and data

In the app, choose Settings → Account and sync → Delete account (in the Finnish app: Asetukset → Tili ja synkronointi → Poista tili). The app has no account and no sign-in, and the button is shown when sync is in use. The page Delete your account and data explains what deletion removes and when, and how to ask for it by email.

Privacy

The app has no ads, no ad tracking and no third-party analytics, and we do not sell your data. Read more in the privacy policy.
